When our house recently flooded, panic mode hit FAST. Our contractor told us to call DOKS immediately, best advice ever.
I called at 8:30 PM, and by 9:30 PM Kyle was already at our house, pulling up like a calm, collected disaster-response superhero with a truck full of fans, drying equipment, and,emotional reassurance. Within minutes, restoration was underway. Kyle took charge of starting our insurance claim, which saved us an unbelievable amount of stress and confusion.
The flooding started in our upstairs pantry flooring and traveled down to our brand new basement remodel, a remodel that hadn’t even been fully completed yet. Watching brand new flooring, drywall, and drop ceilings need to be redone was heartbreaking.Kyle coordinated everything seamlessly. There were many moving parts — demo crews, plumbers, tile installers, flooring teams — and he somehow orchestrated it all like a very damp but extremely efficient symphony. Most impressively, he was able to save our brand new basement bathroom, which honestly felt like a small miracle.
We also had some unexpected scheduling challenges due to a medical emergency on our end. Kyle handled it with patience, flexibility, and professionalism, keeping everything flowing without adding pressure or stress. He was frequently on-site and always available by phone, which is rare and incredibly appreciated.
Now for the personality review portion. Kyle handled my Brooklyn, NY energy landing in our quiet Minnesota rambler with the perfect amount of “Minnesota Nice.” I can absolutely be a little… extra. My city taste and his country charm probably clashed more than once, but he was always kind, supportive, and diplomatic — often saying things like, “As long as you love it,” and “I’m not a designer,” which is honestly the safest and smartest answer a contractor can give.
